Parish councils are statutory bodies. Members are elected for a term of four years and councils are funded principally by an annual precept. Income and expenditure for the next financial year are calculated in the form of estimates.
The net amount (the precept) is added to council tax, collected by the county, borough or district council (principal authorities) and paid to parishes in two six-monthly instalments. Parish and town councils can apply for other funding such as grant and funding awards, but they do not receive funds direct from central government, as principal authorities do.

Hello – I moved into the village in 1968 when my family acquired the farm on Bredon Hill. I enjoy feeling part of a wonderful community, which is ever evolving. The rural feel of the village is important along with the surrounding countryside which I enjoy when walking my dog. I am chair of the Annual Flower Show and also on the Social and Village Hall Committee. I believe passionately in the value of community and respect for all. Supporting businesses alongside residents and providing value for money services to the Parish.

Hi I’m Debbie and I have lived in my Grade II Black and White listed cottage, in the village, for 43 years. I’m originally from Little Comberton where I grew up and spent many wonderful years being part of the village community.
I have bought up three lovely boys in Great Comberton who all attended the local Elmley Castle School where I worked for over 20 years. Prior to that I worked at Pershore Day Care Centre, ran Little Comberton Playgroup and worked at Barclays Bank Pershore. I sing in several local choirs including the Church Choir and I love gardening and walking my dog.
If I can help by putting any issues you have regarding the village, please let me know. (I am very approachable). I will then take it to the Parish Council and see how we as a ‘TEAM’ can help.
