Welcome to Great Comberton

Welcome to Great Comberton, an active rural village, parish and community

Great Comberton is situated on the north slopes of Bredon Hill above the River Avon in Worcestershire. Most of the village is clustered around a central loop encompassing the church and two open fields. It is part of the Cotswold National Landscape formally the  Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village is set on a gently sloping river terrace at the foot of Bredon Hill, is surrounded by low intensity agricultural land, mainly grass with some arable farming.  The parish covers 965 acres and the population was 286 at the 2021 census. It historically was mainly open arable landscape, unsettled outside the village core, farmed communally before parliamentary enclosure. In later times it was predominantly orchards near the village. There are many footpaths, bridleways and byways in and around the parish.

The village has a village hall and church and has a vibrant and friendly community. Great Comberton Parish Council meets 5 times a year, generally bi-monthly (dates can be found in the calendar) and aims to support the life of the community and encourage the ongoing evolution of the character of the village, in line with its published Framework. The Council maintains this web site and welcomes any ideas and suggestions for its improvement, news or other content.
