Great Comberton Parish Council’s Framework Themes (2026-2027)
Planning & Development
- To use the Village Design Statement to respond to all new planning applications in the parish.
- To monitor the enforcement of planning decisions in the parish.
Transport & Traffic
- To monitor traffic (and speed) through the village
- To consider options to reduce speeding traffic and limit HGV’s through the village
- To continue to work on options to prevent flood traffic diverting through village.
- To continue to try and get Community Speed Watch (CSW) available in the village
- To monitor and report potholes and problems with roads.
Environment & Street Scene
- To Monitor and work to eliminate the smells at the end of Quay Lane from the Allens Caravan Development.
- To maintain The Quay and the Phone Box (Library).
- To ensure footpaths are passable.
To manage our Lengthsman
Recreation & Wellbeing
- To work with others to keep open parish Public Rights of Ways (PRoW).
- To support community groups
- To maintain Brailles Orchard.
Community & Communication
- To communicate effectively with the community through Website, Notice Board and face-to-face.
- To establish communication links with local businesses to help them engage with the community.
- To respond efficiently to all contacts from the community.
Governance & Finance
- To run the Council within the guidelines and Code of Conduct.
- To take up Association of Local Councils (CALC) training opportunities.
- To manage expenditure prudently, and work within budgets set for the year. To minimise precept increases and maintain a reserve.
